Key Responsibilities
As an Electrical Design Engineer I, you will learn advanced, high‑performance, and sustainable design techniques from discipline leaders on multiple projects. Your duties will include (but may not be limited to):
Preliminary electrical design and layout
Document delivery coordination
Researching commercially available equipment
Design drafting
System design with direction from mentor and/or senior engineer
Provide exemplary customer service to internal team members and clients
Participate in the engineering and design for a wide variety of MEP building project types and sizes
Participate as a member of a multi‑disciplinary team and receive guidance, support, task delegation, and mentorship
Project tasks: responsible to project managers for scope, schedule, budget, and discipline coordination for assigned projects
Client management: responsible for project task deliverables leading to client satisfaction and repeat business with assigned clients
Project financial management: responsible for containing project costs, working efficiently within assigned project scopes
What You'll Bring
Required
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering
0 to 2 years’ experience
Ability to organize work and perform multiple functions in a fluid, multi‑deadline operations tempo
Ability to work effectively within a team‑oriented, collaborative environment
Live within commuting distance of our Washington, DC office
Preferred
Working Autodesk® REVIT knowledge
Knowledge of electrical building codes and standards
Desire to earn EIT certification and PE license
Excellent communication and time management skills
