Job Description:Job SummaryThis role supports complex clinical research and development activities focused on evaluating new procedures, devices, and technologies, particularly within blood quality and transfusion-related research. The position involves conducting laboratory experiments with a high degree of independence, performing advanced biological assays, maintaining accurate documentation, and collaborating closely with scientific and project teams. The role also contributes to assay development, validation, process improvement, and scientific reporting.Key ResponsibilitiesParticipate in complex clinical research and development studies independently and as part of multidisciplinary research teamsPerform blood quality analyses using laboratory instruments such as flow cytometers, hematology analyzers, aggregometers, plate readers, and gamma countersConduct laboratory experiments and biological assays with minimal supervisionPerform radiolabeled in vivo recovery and survival experimentsMaintain accurate, detailed records of experimental data, observations, and analysesSummarize and document results, conduct basic analyses, and prepare technical reportsContribute to manuscript preparation for publication in professional journalsSupport development, validation, and maintenance of laboratory SOPs and assay methodsMaintain laboratory equipment and contribute to continuous process improvementsCollaborate with scientists and project leaders regarding project progress, observations, and safety proceduresParticipate in ongoing technical and scientific training to develop expertise within the disciplineQualificationsEducation Bachelors degree in Biology, Chemistry, Medical Technology, Medical Laboratory Sciences, Biomedical Engineering, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experienceMasters degree preferredExperience Minimum of one year of experience in a research laboratoryExperience in blood banking, hematology, or transfusion medicine preferredFlow cytometry experience highly desirableBackground in laboratory, pre-clinical, clinical, or computational studies and scientific writing preferredSkills & Abilities Strong proficiency in laboratory techniques with high attention to detailAbility to recognize discrepancies in experimental resultsExcellent documentation and organizational skillsEffective verbal and written communication skillsAbility to work collaboratively as part of a research teamBroad understanding of scientific principles, theories, and related disciplinesAdditional Information Some travel may be requiredThis position is well suited for a detail-oriented research professional seeking to contribute to advanced clinical and laboratory research in a collaborative scientific environment.Working Place:Norfolk, Virginia, United StatesCompany :2026 Jan 15th Virtual Career Fair - Peace Corps
