Building Engineer I

Position: Commercial Building Engineer I – Class A Office BuildingLocation: Denver, CO 80202This is a Direct-Hire Position paying between $30-35 per hour + overtime depending on the level of experience. DescriptionWe are seeking a motivated and dependable Commercial Building Engineer to join our facilities team. This position is responsible for assisting with the daily maintenance, repair, and operation of commercial building systems to ensure a safe, clean, and efficient environment for tenants and staff. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, basic mechanical aptitude, and a willingness to learn commercial building operations including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and general maintenance systems.ResponsibilitiesPerform routine building inspections and preventive maintenance tasksRespond to tenant maintenance requests and work orders in a timely mannerAssist with basic repairs involving HVAC, plumbing, electrical, lighting, and mechanical systemsReplace filters, belts, light bulbs, ceiling tiles, and other building materials as neededMonitor building equipment including boilers, pumps, air handlers, and generatorsMaintain cleanliness and organization of mechanical and maintenance areasSupport outside vendors and contractors during service visitsFollow company safety proceduresMaintain accurate maintenance logs and daily reportsRequirements1-3 years of experience in building operations or facilities maintenance (commercial preferred)Basic knowledge of building systems including HVAC, electrical, and plumbingBasic knowledge of hand and power toolsStrong troubleshooting and problem-solving skillsGood communication and customer service abilitiesAbility to work independently and as part of a teamAbility to lift up to 50 pounds and work on ladders or in mechanical spacesHigh school diploma or GED required; technical training or trade school certification is desirableWillingness to work flexible hours or respond to emergency calls if neededPreferred QualificationsEPA, HVAC, or maintenance certifications experience working in commercial buildings, hotels, apartments, or industrial facilitiesThis is an exciting position with a mission-driven organization!
