Wi-Fi Test Engineer

Job Description:Perform exploratory testing of Wi Fi features across CPE devices (Gateways, Routers, Extenders).Validate Wi Fi functionality including:SSID creation and managementSecurity modes (WPA2/WPA3, WPS)Band steering, client steering, mesh behaviorRoaming, handoff, and multi AP scenariosTest real world usage scenarios such as:Multiple client types (mobile, laptops, IoT, smart TVs)Dense client environmentsInterference, channel congestion, and environmental variationsIdentify edge cases, race conditions, and intermittent issues through investigative testing.Perform performance and stability validation:Throughput, latency, packet lossLong duration soak and stress testingCollaborate closely with developers, architects, and product teams to:Share exploratory findingsReproduce complex customer reported issuesSuggest test ideas based on system designExecute limited scripted/regression testing, with primary focus on unscripted exploratory testing.Log high quality defects with detailed observations, logs, and reproduction steps.Analyze logs, packet captures, and system traces for issue triage.Required Skills & ExperienceStrong understanding of Wi Fi fundamentals:802.11 a/b/g/n/ac/ax (Wi Fi 4/5/6)2.4GHz / 5GHz / 6GHz basicsHands on testing experience with:Broadband gateways, routers, mesh/extendersLinux based embedded systemsFamiliarity with testing tools:iPerf, Wireshark, tcpdumpWi Fi analyzer tools (mobile/desktop)Powered by JazzHR
