OverviewSSM Health-SLUCare is seeking an experienced Advanced Practice Provider to join our growing service line. SLUCare represents the academic medical practice of Saint Louis University, known for leading-edge care and groundbreaking research. This position will involve first assisting in the O.R., including endoscopic vein harvesting, as well as clinic rotation.QualificationsNew/Recent PA graduates with specific rotations in CT Surgery considered.Nurse Practitioner with RNFA certification or ability to obtain RNFA within six months of hire considered. Previous experience as an RN in CT Surgery required.Ability to obtain required licensure in the State of MissouriThe OpportunityThe successful candidate will have experience as an O.R. First Assist, EVH, ECMO cannulation, patient assessment and management skills, invasive procedural skills, and knowledge/expertise in cardiac devicesWill have experience in surgical procedures, suturing/wound care, and emergency management of cardiac surgical eventsResponsible for comprehensive patient consultation and documentation, including ordering and interpreting appropriate diagnostic testing, and performing bedside procedures such as chest tube placement and removal, pacing wire removal, and central line placementPerform H&P documentation in clinicSeeking effective communication, leadership and adaptability, attention to detail, time management, and a continuous learnerAnticipated schedule of 3x12's per week once fully onboarded; will be 5x8's during onboardingAnticipated call of 1:5 which is typically one shift per week and every fifth weekendAt home call but expected to arrive at the hospital within 35 minutesAbout SSM Health Saint Louis University HospitalSSM Health Saint Louis University Hospital, a LEVEL 1 Time Critical Diagnosis hospital in Stroke, Trauma and STEMI, is at the forefront of ground-breaking medical treatments, procedures, clinical trials and comprehensive patient care.
