Role: System Operations Engineer (Production Support / Technology Operations Analyst – P1)Location: Charlotte, NC (Onsite)Contract: 12 months (possible extension/conversion)Role OverviewThe System Operations Engineer (P1) is responsible for 24/7 production support in a high-availability banking environment. This role supports consumer-facing and internal applications by monitoring systems, troubleshooting incidents, resolving production issues, and coordinating with support and engineering teams.Key ResponsibilitiesMonitor applications, infrastructure, dashboards, and alerts in a Mission Control / Command Center environmentIdentify and troubleshoot production incidents before customer impact occursUse ServiceNow to manage incident tickets, severity assessment, and escalationsPerform issue remediation using runbooks and operational proceduresAnalyze logs and system metrics using Splunk and AppDynamicsTroubleshoot application failures, batch job issues, and processing delaysSupport Linux servers and review system logsWork with Autosys for batch scheduling and job monitoringUse Oracle and SQL for data validation and issue investigationCoordinate with L2 support teams, platform teams, SMEs, and engineering teamsDocument troubleshooting steps, resolutions, and incident updatesHandle multiple incidents in a fast-paced 24/7 production environmentRequired SkillsProduction Support / System Operations experienceLinux troubleshooting and log analysisSplunk, AppDynamics, Autosys, Oracle Database, SQL, ServiceNow, Incident Management, Monitoring & Alert ManagementPreferred ExperienceBanking or Financial Services backgroundMission Control / Command Center supportL1/L2 Production Support experienceAdvanced Help Desk or Desktop Support transitioning into Production SupportFirehouse Schedule:Sunday, Monday, Tuesday | Alternate Wednesday every two weeks | 12-hour shiftsPay Range: $32 - $33The specific compensation for this position will be determined by a number of factors, including the scope, complexity and location of the role as well as the cost of labor in the market; the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate; and other conditions of employment.
