About the RoleFractional Firm Advisors works with growing small and mid-sized law firms that need experienced operational leadership without adding a full-time executive.We are seeking experienced Fractional COOs / Law Firm Operations Advisors to support multiple law firm clients on a part-time basis. One position will ideally be based in the Orange County, California area with some in-person availability. The second may be fully remote from anywhere in the United States.This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who understands how law firms operate day to day and enjoys helping firms create structure, improve accountability, and scale more effectively.Our consultants become part of the leadership rhythm of the firms we support. This is not traditional consulting or project-only work.What You'll DoResponsibilities may vary by client, but typically include:Serve as a fractional COO and operational advisor to small and mid-sized law firmsHelp firm leadership improve operational structure, communication, and accountabilityBuild and improve administrative and operational processes across the firmCreate and implement SOPs and operational workflowsManage or coordinate operational projects and firm initiativesSupport leadership with staffing, onboarding, HR coordination, and operational planningHelp firms improve efficiency across intake, billing, case flow, technology, and internal operationsTrack operational and financial KPIs and help leadership use data more effectivelyCoordinate across finance, HR, marketing, intake, and administrative functionsParticipate in leadership meetings and provide ongoing operational guidanceHelp attorneys spend less time managing operations and more time practicing lawWork with multiple firms simultaneously in a fractional capacityWhat We're Looking ForWe are looking for organized, proactive professionals who are comfortable operating independently and building structure in growing organizations.Ideal candidates will have:Experience working inside law firms in an operations, administrative, or leadership roleStrong organizational and project management skillsExperience creating and/or implementing SOPs and operational processesFamiliarity with law firm financials, KPIs, and operational metricsAbility to manage multiple priorities and client relationships simultaneouslyStrong communication and leadership skillsA practical, solutions-oriented mindsetComfort working directly with attorneys and firm leadershipExperience with legal technology and practice management systems is a plusPreferred BackgroundsCandidates may come from backgrounds such as: Law firm COO, Director of Operations, Legal administrator, practice management leadership, operations consulting, or administrative leadership within a law firmWork StructurePart-time / fractional engagementFlexible scheduleMultiple client engagements at one timeCombination of recurring leadership meetings and project-based operational workRemote work environment, with some in-person meetings for the Orange County-based roleWhy Join UsYou'll work directly with growing law firms that need experienced operational leadership but are not ready for a full-time executive team.
