Position Summary The Medical Assistant plays a vital role by performing a variety of medical and clerical tasks to ensure efficient patient care and smooth clinic operations. The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Registered Nurse (RN) acts as a resource nurse, responsible for planning, coordinating, evaluating, and delivering healthcare services to patients. Education and Certification CMA: High school diploma or equivalent required. Graduation from an accredited medical assistant program is necessary. Certification as a medical assistant must be obtained within six months of hire. LPN/RN: Graduation from an accredited nursing school is required. A current nursing license (LPN or RN) valid in the region is mandatory. Experience Preferred minimum of six months experience in a healthcare setting related to patient care. Ambulatory care nursing experience is preferred for LPNs and RNs. Requirements and Skills Basic computer and telephone skills are preferred. Excellent communication skills and professionalism with patients and coworkers are essential. Strong organizational abilities, attention to detail, and effective time management are required. Flexibility, adaptability, and accountability for personal actions are important traits. Certification in Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) must be obtained within three months of employment.
