Production Lead Hand
Job Summary:To lead and coordinate production activities during assigned shifts, ensuring that safety, quality, and productivity standards are met. The Shift Lead serves as the primary point of contact for frontline employees, facilitates communication between shifts and management, and supports continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency.Key Responsibilities:Supervise and coordinate the activities of production team members.Assign tasks and adjust workloads to meet production targets.Monitor equipment and processes to ensure optimal performance.Enforce safety protocols and respond to incidents as needed.Conduct shift handovers and communicate effectively with other leads and supervisors.Maintain accurate records of production output, downtime, and incidents.Support training and development of team members.Identify and escalate operational issues beyond scope of authority.Collaborate with maintenance, quality control, logistics, and HR as needed.Provide hands-on support by performing operator duties when staffing levels are insufficient, ensuring production continuity and adherence to safety and quality standards.Demonstrate flexibility and leadership by modeling operational excellence and supporting team performance during personnel shortages.Job Requirements:High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training preferred.Prior experience in manufacturing or production, with leadership responsibilities.Strong communication and organizational skills.Ability to work independently and make sound decisions under pressure.Familiarity with safety regulations and quality standards.Competencies:Strategic mindset with strong planning and problem-solving abilitiesDetail-oriented and highly organizedProactive, with a strong sense of urgency when neededAble to influence and collaborate across departmentsSafety-conscious and compliance-drivenWorking Conditions:Incumbent spends almost 100% of his/her time in the plant environment requiring varying degrees of light physical labor. Lifting, pulling, pushing (less than 25 lbs), standing and walking cover the majority of the work.
