Software Engineer II

Overview As a Software Engineer II on Cross River’s AI Transformation team, you will help build AI-enabled software that solves real business problems. You’ll work on scalable backend components, collaborate closely with AI strategy and business stakeholders, and apply strong engineering discipline to deliver sustainable, AI-centered outcomes. This role blends hands-on coding with cross-functional collaboration to translate ambiguity into robust solutions. ResponsibilitiesDesign, develop, and deliver scalable software modules and componentsBuild backend systems using a mix of technologies (C# .NET, Python, JavaScript/TypeScript)Implement, test, and iterate on solutions with a sustainable mindset for short- and long-term useCollaborate with AI strategy team and business stakeholders to understand problems and craft solutionsWork with other software and QA engineers across teams Key requirements4+ years of enterprise software development in modern OO languages (at least 2+ years in C#)2+ years of SQL experience (PostgreSQL or SQL Server)Experience with AI assistive/code generation tools (e.g., Copilot, Claude Code, Cursor)Familiarity with ORM/persistence frameworks (e.g., Entity Framework)Strong communication skillsExperience with Domain Driven DesignCloud architecture experience, preferably AWSDocker/Containers experienceKnowledge of distributed systems/event-driven architectures preferred (MassTransit, NServiceBus, RabbitMQ, Idempotency)Financial industry experience is helpful but not requiredstrong communicationcollaborationproblem-solvingC#/.NETPythonJavaScript/TypeScript
