Network / Systems Programmer – Low Voltage Security Systems

*Job Overview* We are seeking an experienced *Network / Systems Programmer* to support a long-term service contract at a large healthcare facility. This position is responsible for programming, configuration, troubleshooting, and technical support of network-connected security and low-voltage systems. The ideal candidate will have experience with enterprise access control, video surveillance, networking, servers, and related systems and be comfortable troubleshooting across both IT and field-device environments. *Responsibilities* * Program, configure, troubleshoot, and maintain access control, video surveillance, and other network-connected low-voltage systems. * Support *Open Options DNA Fusion*, including system programming, controllers, readers, access levels, schedules, alarms, and related configuration. * Support *Avigilon* video surveillance systems, including servers, cameras, recording equipment, software, and network connectivity. * Configure and troubleshoot network infrastructure supporting these systems, including *Juniper switches*, IP addressing, VLANs, and Ethernet connectivity. * Troubleshoot Windows-based servers, workstations, software applications, databases, and communications between servers and field devices. * Provide advanced technical support to field technicians and assist in determining whether system problems originate with hardware, programming, software, or network infrastructure. * Perform software and firmware upgrades, system backups, configuration changes, testing, and commissioning as required. * Maintain accurate documentation of system configurations, programming changes, network information, and service activity. * Coordinate with customer IT personnel, manufacturers, field technicians, and project management to resolve technical issues. * Provide technical troubleshooting support for complex system issues related to computer hardware, cabling, remote access software, and electrical wiring. * Collaborate with project teams on system design and layout to meet client specifications while adhering to NEC (National Electrical Code) standards. *Qualifications* * Experience with electronic security systems, networking, system administration, or a related technical field. * Strong understanding of TCP/IP networking, including IP addressing, VLANs, switching, and network troubleshooting. * Experience with Windows operating systems and Windows-based servers. * Experience programming and troubleshooting enterprise access control and/or IP video surveillance systems. * Strong diagnostic and problem-solving ability across hardware, software, and network systems. * Strong understanding of TCP/IP networking, including IP addressing, VLANs, switching, and network troubleshooting. * Ability to work independently in an on-site service environment and communicate effectively with technicians, customers, and technical support personnel. * Knowledge of computer networking principles as they relate to security systems including remote access software and network configuration. * Ability to troubleshoot equipment issues related to computer hardware, cabling infrastructure, sensors, surveillance cameras, and alarm systems efficiently. * Field service experience working on physical security systems in various environments with excellent customer service skills. *Preferred Experience* Experience with any of the following is highly desirable: * Open Options DNA Fusion * Avigilon * Juniper Networks * Mercury Security hardware * Windows Server and SQL databases * Enterprise access control and IP video surveillance systems Manufacturer certifications are preferred but not required for candidates with equivalent hands-on experience.
