Associate Attorney
Established law firm is seeking an entry level Attorney to support employment litigation matters in San Jose, California on a part-time basis. This opportunity is well suited for an early-career attorney who is eager to build hands-on experience in civil litigation. The role offers meaningful exposure to case development, legal drafting, and courtroom preparation while working closely with an established legal team. This position is part-time, offering around 20 hours per week, and requires on-site work in San Jose, CA. Responsibilities:• Conduct legal research and analyze statutes, case law, and procedural rules to support active matters.• Prepare motions, pleadings, correspondence, and other legal documents with accuracy and attention to detail.• Assist with discovery tasks, including reviewing records, organizing evidence, and drafting related materials.• Support trial and hearing preparation by assembling case files, exhibits, and witness-related materials.• Contribute to both criminal defense and civil litigation matters as assigned based on case needs.• Collaborate with attorneys to evaluate legal strategies, summarize findings, and help move matters forward efficiently.• Participate in on-site work in San Jose, California initially to build familiarity with case workflows and team expectations.• Provide legal support on an as-needed schedule of approximately 20 hours per week, depending on workload and project demands.Qualifications: • Active California law license required; candidates awaiting bar results may be considered if you have a strong background in civil litigation.• 0–2 years of legal experience is preferred, including internships, clerkships, or early practice exposure.• Demonstrated interest and experience in litigation viewed favorably.• Strong legal research, analytical writing, and document drafting skills are essential for success in this role.• Ability to draft motions, assist with discovery, and contribute to trial preparation in a fast-paced environment.• Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school is required.• Availability for part-time or project-based contract work, with flexibility to support matters as needed.• Familiarity with courts and legal practice in Santa Clara County is a plus.Robert Half is the world’s first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
