Robotics Field Service Engineer

OVERVIEW At Mission Design & Automation, we attribute our success to the strength of our team and our ability to be agile and adaptive to new market demands. We believe that our customers should experience a seamless process from start to finish and our people, culture, and customer-centric attitude will make that possible. To build on this team we are searching for a highly qualified Robotics Field Service Engineer. The ideal candidate will be capable of balancing multiple diverse projects, have a high technical aptitude, integrity, and a broad experience in automation. This position includes roughly 70-80% local, non-overnight travel and 10% overnight travel. When not at a customer facility, you will work on-site at Mission in Holland, MI.  WHAT YOU’LL GAIN One-on-one technical training in programming, robotics, maintenance, and troubleshooting Extensive exposure to working at various customer sites locallyCustomized mentorship in areas of improvement A work environment centered around an upbeat, motivated, and winning culture Potential to participate in future certified robotics training programs RESPONSIBILITIES Install, upgrade, troubleshoot and/or repair automation equipment Perform troubleshooting and field repairs on wide variety of robot models and peripheral equipment Provide technical phone support and troubleshooting assistance to customers Perform preventive maintenance and evaluate/audit customer equipment Evaluate robot cycle times and make improvements when possible Robot repairs (predominately on FANUC robots) Work with Build and Controls teams while installing new equipment at customer facilities Assist customers with equipment upgrades, modifications, and retrofits to existing system Provide on-site customer training Work safely and adhere to safety standards Accurately complete and submit service and expense reports in a timely manner REQUIREMENTS Minimum 3-5 years of experience in the automation industry Strong mechanical aptitude and familiarity with robotics and/or automation  Understand diagrams and schematics including mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and bill of materials Work efficiently with little supervision Ability to utilize all available resources to troubleshoot and repair (internal company teammates, OEM suppliers, etc.) Preferred knowledge of FANUC iRVision, Roboguide, DCS, CollisionGuard, SpotTool, ArcTool, etc.
