Staff Accountant

Staff Accountant - Manufacturing (≈$50M revenue) Location: Western Suburbs of Chicago Work Arrangement: On-site, Monday-Friday (flexible start 8:00-9:00 a.m.) About the Company Privately held, family-owned manufacturer with a collaborative, fast-moving culture and a track record of developing early-career accountants into broader roles. Growth continues, and accounting volume is increasing-this role is being added to strengthen the bench and support the team through that scale. Responsibilites Own account reconciliations and support month-end close (journal entries, balance-sheet tie-outs, variance follow-up). Handle GL activities: coding, basic analysis, and preparation of support for internal reporting. Analyze ERP exports in Excel; clean/compare datasets and identify discrepancies. Cross-train across the function; provide backup for AP, billing, and payroll posting as needed. Partner with the Controller and Senior Accountant; step up on special projects as volume increases. Qualifications Education: Associate's or Bachelor's in Accounting, Finance, or related field. Excel capability is critical: PivotTables and lookups; comfort reconciling and analyzing large datasets. Accounting exposure: Reconciliations and month-end support from work or internship (manufacturing exposure is a plus). Mindset: curious, coachable, growth-motivated, and ready to work on-site with a collaborative team. Systems: Any ERP is a plus (QuickBooks acceptable); ability to learn new systems quickly. Experience with Microsoft Great Plains or Business Central is a plus, not a requirement.
