About the Job
The Technical Support Engineer provides advanced technical support for dimensional metrology systems, software, and applications. This role serves as a technical escalation point for customers and field service engineers and supports service execution, documentation, and continuous improvement initiatives.
What You'll Do
Provide remote troubleshooting and diagnostic support for dimensional metrology systems
Perform structured troubleshooting and root cause analysis
Provide advanced software configuration and application-level support
Serve as technical escalation point for complex technical issues
Identify recurring technical issues and develop standardized resolution procedures
Support execution of service agreements and preventive maintenance programs
Assist in service planning including parts identification and repair strategy
Provide diagnostic guidance during installation, repair, calibration, and training activities
Develop and maintain technical documentation and troubleshooting guides
Maintain technical knowledge base and service bulletins
Collaborate with Service, Engineering, Product Management, and Sales
Support internal technical training initiatives
Qualifications
Required
3–7 years of experience in technical support, field service, calibration, or metrology-related role
Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting ability
Advanced software and application-level troubleshooting experience
Ability to interpret technical drawings, schematics, and service documentation
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently
Preferred
Associate or Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Electronics, Mechanical Technology, Metrology, or related technical discipline, or equivalent technical experience
Experience supporting precision measurement equipment
Calibration and metrology knowledge
Experience using CRM or field service management systems
Reports To: Service Manager
Works Closely With: Service, Engineering, Product Management, and Sales
