About the RoleWe're looking for a detail-oriented Junior AP Accountant to support day-to-day accounts payable operations in a fast-paced SaaS environment. This is a contract role with potential for full-time conversion - we're looking for someone who wants to grow with the company and take on increasing ownership over time. You will work closely with the Head of Finance and the broader team to ensure vendor payments, reconciliations, and month-end close processes run smoothly and accurately. What You'll Do• Process invoices and manage vendor payment runs end-to-end • Perform invoice matching and resolve payment or billing discrepancies • Maintain and update vendor records and AP documentation • Assist with month-end close, including AP accruals and prepaid schedules • Reconcile the AP subledger and actively monitor AP aging reports • Support internal documentation, audit readiness, and finance process standards • Assist in system implementation and process improvement projects as the company scales What We're Looking ForCore Requirements• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field • 0-2 years of AP or general accounting experience • Solid foundational knowledge of accrual accounting principles • Strong attention to detail, organization, and ability to manage high-volume transactions • Comfortable operating in fast-moving, ambiguous environments Nice to Have• Hands-on experience with QuickBooks, NetSuite, or Bill.com • Proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, reconciliation workflows) • Prior exposure to a SaaS or tech startup finance environment • Experience supporting a finance system migration or implementation Tech Stack You'll Work WithQuickBooks / NetSuite, Bill.com, Excel, Google Sheets, Stripe (billing context), and internal finance tooling Compensation• Competitive hourly or contract rate • Clear pathway to a full-time offer based on performance and business need • High autonomy, high growth environment Work Setup• Bay Area required (hybrid environment)
