Laser Programmer/Operator

3-Axis Flat Laser Programmer / Operator *Location:* Chesterfield, MI *Pay:* $25.00–$30.00/hour, based on experience *Job Type:* Full-Time | Direct Hire *Schedule:* 8–10 Hour Shifts MagTech is currently hiring an experienced *3-Axis Flat Laser Programmer / Operator* for a client in the Chesterfield, Michigan area. This position is responsible for programming, setting up, and operating *Mitsubishi 3-axis flat laser equipment* in a sheet metal fabrication environment. Responsibilities * Program, set up, and operate *Mitsubishi 3-axis flat laser equipment*. * Create and modify laser programs from blueprints, CAD data, and production requirements. * Develop efficient *nests and cutting layouts* to maximize material utilization. * Select and adjust cutting parameters based on material type and thickness. * Read and interpret engineering drawings, dimensions, and tolerances. * Perform first-piece and in-process inspections using calipers, micrometers, and other measuring tools. * Troubleshoot cut quality, piercing, focus, nozzle, assist gas, and programming issues. * Load/unload materials and maintain proper material identification. * Perform routine machine inspections, cleaning, and basic preventive maintenance. * Follow all safety, quality, and production procedures. Qualifications * Previous experience *programming and operating 3-axis flat laser equipment*. * *Mitsubishi flat laser experience strongly preferred.* * Experience with CNC laser programming, setup, and nesting. * Strong blueprint and engineering drawing interpretation skills. * Knowledge of sheet metal fabrication processes. * Ability to use precision measuring equipment. * Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills. * Ability to work independently in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Preferred Experience * 3+ years of CNC laser programming/operating experience. * Experience with offline laser programming software. * Strong nesting and material optimization experience. * Experience with multiple sheet metal materials and thicknesses. * Background in custom, prototype, or high-mix/low-volume fabrication. Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 – 50.0 per week Work Location: In person
