Terminal Manager

The Terminal Manager is responsible for overseeing all operational aspects of the Griffith, IN dry bulk trucking terminal, managing a team of 70+ DOT-regulated drivers, and ensuring the efficient operation of associated facilities — including an on-site maintenance facility and a truck and trailer wash facility.This position reports directly to the Regional Terminal Operations Director and plays a key role in driving operational excellence, safety, and team performance. Primary ResponsibilitiesOversee daily terminal operations, ensuring efficiency, safety, and compliance across all activities.Manage staffing, work schedules, and workload assignments for drivers and support personnel.Provide leadership and direction to terminal employees, including hiring, training, coaching, and performance management.Promote a strong safety culture, ensuring adherence to all DOT and company safety standards.Monitor and analyze operational data to identify opportunities for improvement and enhance terminal efficiency.Address and resolve customer challenges promptly and professionally to maintain strong client relationships.Develop logical, safe, and efficient solutions that support operational growth and continuous improvement.Maintain and enforce terminal policies, procedures, and best practices to ensure consistent and compliant operations.Document and address performance issues and escalate employee concerns as needed.Foster employee engagement and satisfaction while promoting a clean, safe, and respectful work environment.Collaborate and communicate effectively with other terminals, departments, and regional leadership to support company-wide initiatives.Represent the company professionally in all interactions with customers, employees, and community partners.Travel as required to customer sites or other company locations. Requirements:Minimum 4 years of management experience, preferably in trucking, logistics, or terminal operations.Bachelor’s degree preferred (or equivalent work experience).Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and basic data analysis.Valid driver’s license and ability to move vehicles as needed.Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and make sound decisions. Knowledge and Skills:Ability to understand, interpret, and follow company policies and instructions.Strong computer and typing skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with employees and customers.Basic mathematical proficiency.Valid driver’s license and ability to move vehicles as needed.Self-motivated and capable of working independently to complete tasks efficiently and accurately. Physical and Environmental Requirements:Ability to wear and properly use required safety equipment.Capable of performing physical tasks such as standing, walking, bending, stooping, reaching, and climbing when needed.Comfortable working at heights and in outdoor environments under various weather conditions. Pay Range:$85,000- $95,000 annually based on experience Benefits: We offer a comprehensive benefits package to all full time employees including paid vacation and holidays, Medical, Dental and Vision insurance, 401k with employer match, and life insurance among other benefits.
