Description: We are looking for a skilled and forward-thinking Packaging Engineer to join our team in the rapidly evolving energy storage sector. This role will focus on designing and optimizing packaging solutions for high-performance battery systems and energy storage products. You’ll play a key role in ensuring product safety, regulatory compliance, and supply chain efficiency while supporting sustainability and innovation initiatives. Responsibilities: Develop and implement packaging solutions for components, modules, systems. Ensure packaging meets performance standards for thermal management, vibration resistance, and hazardous material handling. Collaborate with Strategic Sourcing, R&D, and Manufacturing teams to align packaging with product specifications and supply chain requirements. Conduct packaging validation testing including ISTA protocols, drop tests, and environmental simulations. Evaluate and select packaging materials that meet regulatory, safety, and sustainability standards. Create and maintain packaging specifications, CAD drawings, and documentation. Support cost reduction and continuous improvement initiatives across packaging operations. Stay current with industry regulations including UN/DOT, IATA, and other standards related to battery packaging and transport. Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Packaging Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field. 3+ years of experience in packaging design, preferably in energy storage, electronics, or automotive sectors. Familiarity with packaging requirements Proficiency in CAD software and packaging testing methodologies. Strong understanding of supply chain logistics and packaging sustainability. Excellent analytical, communication, and project management skills. Preferred Skills: Experience with UN38.3, DOT 49 CFR, and IATA Dangerous Goods Regulations. Knowledge of thermal insulation and fire-retardant packaging materials. Lean manufacturing or Six Sigma certification. Experience working with global suppliers and contract manufacturers.
