CIVIL ENGINEER
This is a Lafayette, LA based full-time position for the engineering of oil & gas pipelines, and related facilities. Duties of role include the civil/structural design of site development, equipment and piping supports related to various upstream and midstream facilities for onshore and offshore projects. Candidate must be knowledgeable of the related ACI, AISC, API and ASCE codes.Essential Functions DrainageAble to assist with site hydrology studies and perform open flow channel design calculationsAble to design site drainage to comply with local authority / jurisdictional requirements. Permit drawing development for oil and gas facility and pipeline projects to includePipeline crossings calculations of highways, railroads, water bodies, drainage channels, etc.Other permitted infrastructure calculations and drawings such as driveway permits, traffic control plans, etc. Site developmentCut / fill / grading plansEarthwork design – ponds, berms, etc. Foundation design for oil and gas equipment and pipelines Structural steel design Gather and record information from vendor drawings, catalogs, and technical manuals to be utilized in the development of engineering specifications. Prepare engineering reports, design calculations, drawings related to pipeline and facility design and construction Prepare basic sketches and perform basic engineering calculations for project assignments Visit job-sites to evaluate site conditions and project requirements. Interface with other disciplines on a multi-disciplinary team (survey, mechanical, electrical, and/or instrumentation) Assist in developing permit packages, construction drawing packages and contractor specifications for oil and gas pipeline and facility projects. Identify opportunities for improvement of work products and standards. Maintain a high standard of work performance and ensuring that all done is in accordance with the standards of the company and client. Strong communications skills and ability to interreact directly with clients, suppliers, upper management, and construction personnel.Qualifications Minimum Qualifications:Bachelor’s Degree from ABET Accredited Institution in Civil EngineeringAbility to find a solution for or to deal proactively with work related problemsAbility to comprehend instructions and request clarification as necessaryAbility to communicate effectively with others verbally and in writingAbility to work in a team-oriented environmentMust be Able to Work for any US Employer. Preferred Qualifications:2+ years of experience in Civil Engineering projects including DOT projects and/or oil and gas facility related projectsMulti-discipline project experiencePermitting experience for development of new oil and gas facilities or pipelinesEducation Bachelor’s Degree from an ABET accredited university in Civil Engineering.Certification/License Engineer in Training (EIT) preferredPhysical Expectations Must be able to lift objects weighing up to 50lbs Must be able to stand, kneel, and walk for long periods of time Must pass background check and be able to pass both a pre-employment & random drug test(s) Must be able to travel occasionally up to 25% including overnight travel to various locations & customer sites to provide service based on business needs Duties performed indoors & outdoors with exposure to weather and elements.We will respond only to US based candidates meeting the experience.
