Develop or modify curricula and prepare lessons and other instructional materials to match student ability levels. Work in self-contained, team, departmental, or itinerant capacity as assigned. Qualifications:Education/Certification:Bachelor's degree in education from an accredited universityValid Texas teaching certificate with required special education endorsements for assignmentSpecial Knowledge/Skills:Knowledge of special needs of students in assigned areaKnowledge of effective behavioral practices for students with emotional/behavioral problemsKnowledge of special needs of students specific to behaviorKnowledge of Admission, Review, and Dismissal (ARD) Committee process and Individual Education Plan (IEP) goal setting process and implementationKnowledge of how to adapt curriculum and instruction for special needsEffective communication skills Experience:Minimum of 3 years successful Special Education teaching experience (preferred)Work Schedule: 187 DaysSalary: MISD Teacher Hiring Schedule / Stipend $1000Screenings may begin 5 school days from date posted.
