Lead Data Test Engineer

Overview In this role, you lead data assurance efforts across migration, transformation, and reporting projects, ensuring accuracy and consistency of enterprise data. You blend leadership with hands-on execution, overseeing data quality strategy, ETL testing, and client engagement, while performing complex SQL validation. You will mentor team members and drive end-to-end project delivery from planning through validation sign-off. This position offers the opportunity to shape data quality practices and directly influence client confidence and project outcomes. ResponsibilitiesLead end-to-end data validation and assurance for migration, transformation, and consolidation initiativesServe as primary client liaison to translate requirements into actionable validation plansReview Source-to-Target Mapping documents to verify transformation accuracy and data lineagePerform hands-on SQL analysis and reconciliation across Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQLValidate ETL workflows using Informatica, DataStage, Azure Data Factory, or AWS GlueCollaborate with data engineers, developers, and BI teams to resolve discrepanciesDesign and execute data quality test plans with record-count checks and exception handlingCreate repeatable templates, reusable queries, and documentation standardsMonitor progress and report data quality metrics to leadership and clientsMentor junior team members and coordinate testing deliverables across distributed teamsIdentify risks, recommend process improvements, and support quality practices Key requirements10+ years of experience in data assurance, ETL testing, or data migration validationAdvanced SQL skills for profiling, transformation validation, and reconciliationExperience with Oracle, SQL Server, and PostgreSQLProficiency in ETL tools: Informatica, DataStage, Azure Data Factory, or AWS GlueUnderstanding of STTM and end-to-end transformation validationExposure to data analytics and reporting validation (Tableau, Power BI, OBIEE)Strong client-facing communication and presentation abilitiesAbility to work independently and own deliverablesExperience in Agile/Scrum and tools like JIRA or Azure DevOpsPreferred: leading small teams; familiarity with data governance and data lineageexcellent communicationclient engagementmentoring and leadershipSQL (advanced)OracleSQL Server
