Host/HostessJamaica Bay Inn, a Tapestry Collection by Hilton, is looking for a part-time Host/Hostess to join our team! We are looking for an energetic and cheerful Host/Hostess to greet and acknowledge all arriving guests and escort guests to their tables. The Host/Hostess will also be responsible for taking reservations and maintaining reservation book.Core functions of the position, but are not limited to the following:Maintain a friendly, cheerful and courteous demeanor at all times, while providing personalized service to guestsCommunicate effectively with guests and fellow team membersCheerfully and courteously greet and escort guests to tables and assist in seating at tables; present menus and extend congenialities ensuring restaurant's standards of service at all timesTake, record and confirm restaurant reservations/cancellation as specified in departmental standardsAssist in preparing the restaurant for service and maintaining the cleanliness of the dining room at all timesAssist in monitoring the guests' needs and all phases of the restaurant experienceOversee all aspects of restaurant during absence of Restaurant Manager and/or SupervisorMaintain complete knowledge of all menu items, specials, liquor/beer/non-alcoholic selections available in the restaurantMaintain good guest relations by keeping abreast of all in-house and area functions in order to answer questions and concerns with timely and knowledgeable responsesInspect tables and stations ensuring that all set ups meet the departmentCheck throughout meal period. Relay deficiencies to respective team members and follow up on correctionsAnswer restaurant telephone courteously and efficiently as specified in department standardsExtend courteous departures as guests leave the restaurantEnsure tables are cleaned and reset according to standardsReport any missing/found articles or equipment/property damage to the Housekeeping DepartmentProvide assistance to other team members and departments to contribute to the best overall performance of the department, restaurant and HotelPerform other duties as assigned, requested or deemed necessary by ManagementBenefits & More 401k, Vacation and Sick Leave are offered with this position.
