Director of Distribution
POSITION SUMMARY
Responsible for all aspects of fulfillment for four facilities in the US and Canada. This includes maintaining the accuracy of inventory levels, producing and fulfilling orders on time. Strive for optimum efficiency and economy of operations as well as maximized profits. This position ensures distribution efficiency, inventory management, workplace safety, quality products and on time delivery to meet the needs of our existing customers and to attract new customers.
Develop and execute strategic plans aligned to company short and long-term goals
Oversee distribution, fulfillment, and inventory management processes across four facilities
Manage operating and capital budgets; prepare annual plans with monthly financial goals
Drive KPIs including quality standards, on-time delivery, and cost efficiency
Lead continuous improvement initiatives across all operational areas
Build and maintain qualified teams; oversee hiring, training, compensation, and development
Partner with HR on recruitment, employee relations, policy implementation, and separations
Ensure regulatory compliance across all areas of responsibility
Manage inventory forecasting, shipping, quality control, and maintenance functions
Develop organizational plans to maximize direct labor profitability
Build relationships with key accounts, vendors, trade associations, and government entities
Collaborate daily with Sales, Customer Service, IT, and HR teams
Report to the COO on results vs. plan, forecasts, and key developments
Monitor and recommend new technology and process improvements
Foster a team culture of empowerment, accountability, and continuous growth
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
Knowledge of customer service, manufacturing and distribution operations
Ability to understanding and provide financial information and analysis
Leadership skills and project management skills
PC skills with Word and Excel proficiency, AS400 experience
Experience in high-volume, fast paced distribution centers of excellence
Bachelor's Degree preferred, but combination of experience and education will be considered.
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS
50% to 75% travel may be required as well as availability nights and weekends, during distribution peak seasons.
