Oracle EBS Test Analyst

Role OverviewThe Oracle EBS Test Analyst is responsible for planning, executing testing activities across Oracle E-Business Suite implementations, upgrades, and enhancements. The role ensures system quality, data integrity, and business process alignment throughout the project lifecycle.Core Responsibilities Test Planning & StrategyThe Test Analyst Develops And Maintains Test Strategies, Test Plans, And Test Schedules In Alignment With Project Timelines. Key Activities IncludeDefining testing scope across Oracle EBS modules, including Financials, Procurement, Order Management, HRMS, Inventory, and related integrationsEstablishing clear test entry and exit criteria for each test phaseCollaborating with business analysts and functional consultants to understand business and functional requirementsEnsuring testing activities are aligned with overall project milestones and delivery objectives Test Design & DocumentationThe Analyst Creates And Maintains Detailed Test Artefacts, IncludingDetailed test cases, test scripts, and test data requirements derived from functional specifications and business process documentationOngoing maintenance of all test artefacts within the designated test management toolRequirements Traceability Matrices (RTMs) linking test cases to business and functional requirements Test ExecutionThe Analyst Executes Testing Across Multiple Phases, IncludingFunctional, system integration, regression, and User Acceptance Testing (UAT) across Oracle EBS modulesValidation of system configurations, setups, and business rulesVerification of data integrity and end-to-end process flows across integrated modules and third-party systemsAccurate recording of test execution results and supporting evidence within the test management tool Defect ManagementThe analyst is responsible for the full defect lifecycle, including:Logging, tracking, and managing defects using a defect tracking tool with clear and reproducible steps, screenshots, and supporting evidenceCollaborating with developers and functional consultants to prioritise and resolve defects within agreed SLAsRe-testing fixes to confirm defect resolution before closureProducing defect trend analysis to support root cause identification UAT SupportThe analyst provides hands-on support to business stakeholders during UAT:Preparing test environments and coordinating environment readinessProviding guidance to business users on test script execution and defect loggingCollating sign-off documentation and managing UAT closure activitiesActing as a liaison between business and technical teams to ensure clear communication Environment & Data ManagementThe Analyst Coordinates Test Environment And Data Activities, IncludingLiaising with the environment management team to ensure environments are provisioned, refreshed, and stableManaging the preparation and masking of test data to reflect realistic business scenariosEnsuring test data complies with data privacy and security requirements Test AutomationWhere Applicable, The Analyst Contributes To Automated Testing, IncludingDeveloping and/or executing automated regression test scripts for repetitive or high-risk Oracle EBS workflowsSupporting the adoption, execution, and maintenance of automation frameworks using tools such as Oracle Application Testing Suite (OATS) or similar Reporting & CommunicationThe analyst provides clear and timely reporting throughout the testing lifecycle:Producing regular test status reports covering execution progress, defect status, and overall quality healthProactively communicating risks, issues, and blockers to the Test Manager or Project ManagerParticipating in daily stand-ups, test review sessions, defect triage meetings, and steering committee updates as required Continuous ImprovementThe Analyst Actively Contributes To Team And Process ImprovementSupporting the development and enhancement of testing standards, templates, and best practicesSharing Oracle EBS testing knowledge and functional insights to uplift team capabilityIdentifying lessons learned and recommending process improvements to enhance testing efficiency and qualityKey Skills & ExperienceHands-on experience testing Oracle EBS R12 or Cloud across one or more modules (Financials, Procurement, Order Management, HRMS, Inventory)Strong understanding of end-to-end business processes within Oracle EBSProficiency in test management tools such as JIRA, ALM/Quality Center, or ZephyrExperience with defect management and root cause analysisAbility to write clear, structured, and traceable test cases from functional specificationsSQL skills for data validation queries and backend verification (highly desirable)Familiarity with Oracle Application Testing Suite (OATS) or other automation tools (advantageous)Excellent analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills
