Description Our client, a preeminent law firm based in Buffalo, NY, is seeking a Litigation Attorney for our general litigation team in Rochester, New York. Practice areas will include defense of a variety of personal injury and other tort claims, including auto, premises, products liability and municipal matters. About the role Litigation Associate - Insurance Defense We are seeking a motivated Litigation Associate with a focus on insurance defense to join our growing legal team. The ideal candidate will have at least 1 year of litigation experience, preferably in insurance defense, labor law, and asbestos litigation. As a Litigation Associate, you will be responsible for handling all aspects of litigation, including court appearances, motion practice, depositions, discovery, client reporting, and trial preparation. You will work closely with partners and senior attorneys on a variety of complex matters and represent clients in both state and federal courts. Responsibilities Manage a caseload of insurance defense litigation matters from inception through resolution Draft and argue motions, including summary judgment and discovery motions Conduct and defend depositions, including expert and fact witnesses Prepare pleadings, discovery demands and responses, and legal correspondence Attend court conferences, hearings, arbitrations, and trials Communicate effectively with clients, insurance carriers, and opposing counsel Provide thorough analysis and timely reporting to clients and carriers Collaborate with partners and other team members on case strategy and client needs Requirements Qualifications Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school Admitted to practice in New York (additional admissions a plus) Minimum of 1 year of litigation experience, with an emphasis in insurance defense Experience in labor law, asbestos litigation, and general liability matters strongly preferred Excellent legal research, writing, and oral advocacy skills Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities Robert Half is the world's first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
