Sports Information Director

TCA is looking for a Sports Information Director. This position is responsible for helping advance the mission and community engagement of TCA by effectively communicating and coordinating athletic information to our community. You will work closely with coaches, administrators, and student-athletes, to promote our athletic programs in a way that reflects the school's Christian values, commitment to excellence, and dedication to character development.General ResponsibilitiesResponsible for all school communications regarding athleticsManage athletic department's social media accounts, including creating or overseeing the creation of graphics, photos, video and text; posting content regularly; and monitoring or moderating comments and messagesOversee and update TCA athletics websiteCreate and/or contribute to weekly newslettersResponsible for coordinating media days and team pictures for fall, winter and spring athletic teamsOversee timing, production and installation of printed banners for each varsity team sport to ensure they are produced, approved printed and installed in a timely mannerOversee production of programs for varsity sportsGather game and player for publication in different channelsCoordinate and/or create graphics for each varsity team for video board at Tom Landry Stadium and MCB GymCoordinate with coaches on any team social media accounts and provide support or oversight where neededOversee creation of digital and print materials for each team (such as flyers, videos and social media graphics) to promote special athletic events such as Little Trojan Nights, Middle School Night, Senior Nights, etc.Manage communications timeline for Athletic departmentPost teams, schedules, scores and news stories o TCA athletics websiteWrite game recaps, season summaries and sports interest storiesCompose stories highlighting successes within the Trojan athletic department for publication online or in printCoordinate necessary communication including press releases for introducing new coaches, signing days and other special eventsWork with graphic designer and/or templated program to create approved graphics to support athleticsWork with the Director of Marketing and Communication on all press inquiries and media relations for Trojan Athletics, including approving/rejecting requests for media access and issuing press passesManage the design and ordering process of all athletic signage that is displayed throughout the schoolProduce or oversee production of videos for use on social mediaGather data, compile information, and prepare reportsAssist coaches as needed in communicating effectively through sportsYou appEducation, Experience and QualificationsBachelor's degree with 2+ years media relations and/or communications experienceInterest in athletics and understanding of multiple sportsWorking knowledge of social media platforms ( Instagram, Facebook, X)Knowledge of a variety of computer software applications including word processing, spreadsheets, database and presentation software (Adobe, MSWord, Excel, Access, Teams and PowerPoint)Must have excellent writing skills with the ability to compose and edit sports related articles and informationAbility to manage multiple timelines and people/coaches to accomplish strategic goals for the schoolA high level of interpersonal skills and the ability to handle sensitive and confidential situations.
