Please note that actual compensation may vary within this range due to factors such as location, experience, and job responsibilities, and does not encompass additional non-standard compensation (e.g., benefits, paid time off, per diem, etc.).Job Summary:We’re looking for an experienced Technical Program Manager (TPM) to drive end-to-end display algorithm development, validation, and execution for AR/Smart Glasses products.As a Display Algorithms TPM, you will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing workflows spanning algorithm development, software implementation, hardware testing, and prototype validation. The role involves working closely with display hardware engineers, software engineers, product managers, system architects, and subsystem TPMs to strategically manage cross-functional programs from development through dogfooding.This opportunity offers direct collaboration with world-class display, optics, and software development teams to help deliver high-quality visual experiences for next-generation AR/Smart Glasses products.Responsibilities:Validation Roadmap & Milestone Planning:Define and execute end-to-end validation milestones spanning:Algorithm model developmentHardware testingPrototype software validationProduction software readinessHuman factors evaluationsCross-Functional Execution:Drive alignment and execution across multiple interdependent workstreams including:Display hardwareTestingSoftwareSystem architectureTrack dependencies and proactively close execution gaps. Hardware & Resource CoordinationManage hardware allocation and device availability to unblock validation timelines.Risk Management & MitigationContinuously assess program risks and drive mitigation plans.Maintain a living risk register with owners, impacts, and resolution paths.Stakeholder CommunicationCommunicate program status, validation results, risks, and milestone updates to engineering leadership and cross-functional stakeholders.Drive regular reviews and executive summaries.Minimum Qualifications3+ years of experience as a Technical Program Manager in hardware/software co-development programs.3+ years of experience in:Display technologyImage processingAlgorithm validationElectro-optical systems engineeringBachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, Optical Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, or related technical discipline (or equivalent experience).Experience leading complex multi-workstream execution across hardware, firmware, and software teams.Experience managing programs with significant hardware dependencies, including:Device allocationPrototype build schedulesTest infrastructure coordinationStrong analytical and problem-solving skills with data-driven decision-making experience.Excellent executive communication and stakeholder management skills.Ability to operate autonomously in ambiguous, fast-paced environments with evolving requirements and tight timelines.Preferred QualificationsExperience with display compensation algorithms and image quality pipelines.Familiarity with display technology testing methodologies.Experience managing 0-to-1 consumer device programs from prototype validation through mass production.Knowledge of AR/VR/XR display systems, including near-eye display architectures and image quality metrics.Big Tech experience preferred.Must-Have Skills3+ years as a TPM in hardware and software co-development programs.3+ years in display technology, image processing, algorithm validation, or electro-optical systems.Strong executive communication, cross-functional collaboration, and ability to work in ambiguous, fast-paced environments.Nice-to-Have SkillsBig Tech experience.Experience managing 0-to-1 consumer device programs.AR/VR/XR near-eye display architecture knowledge.Benefits:BCforward offers all eligible employees a comprehensive benefits package including, but not limited to major medical, HSA, dental, vision, employer-provided group life, voluntary life insurance, short-term disability, long-term disability, and 401k.About BCforward:Founded in 1998 on the idea that industry leaders needed a professional service, and workforce management expert, to fuel the development and execution of core business and technology strategies, BCforward is a Black-owned firm providing unique solutions supporting value capture and digital product delivery needs for organizations around the world.
