Plastic Material Processor

JOB DESCRIPTION: *Please note, this is not a warehouse position* Are you ready to be a crucial part of our dynamic extrusion operating team? As a Raw Material Handler, you'll kickstart the extrusion process, ensuring our machines are supplied with the right materials for seamless operation and top-notch product quality. Attention to detail is key in this pivotal role. While previous experience is beneficial, we're willing to train the perfect candidate who's passionate about making a difference in our production process. RESPONSIBILITIES: Manage the inventory and distribution of over 20 different products and materials, ensuring precise supply to the dryers and extrusion lines. Operate a variety of machinery including dryers, grinders, filters, tippers, and blenders. Maintain cleanliness of gaylords, blenders, grinders, and work area to prevent any potential cross-contamination of materials. Maintain accuracy and completeness in all paperwork related to material tracking and processing. Set up, operate, and maintain blending equipment, guaranteeing timely and accurate supply of materials to all production lines. Perform material clean out of equipment when changing over jobs to ensure no cross-contamination. Responsible for understanding the food safety hazards of their job and following the employee GMPs and other procedures to ensure food safety. Other duties as assigned. REQUIREMENTS: High School Diploma or Equivalency. Ability to work as part of a team. Strong communication skills. Problem solving skills. Time management skills. Organizational and prioritization skills. Attention to details. Basic math skills. Ability to use resources to find documents. Dependable work record. Mechanical aptitude and ability. One year manufacturing experience preferred. Must be able to pass a background check and drug screen. PHYSICAL/ MENTAL DEMANDS: Standing/ Sitting – Primarily a standing job, minimal sitting Lifting/ Carrying – Lift up to 50 lbs frequently and occasionally assist with 100 lbs. Some lifting and carrying is over shoulder height. Bending/ Reaching – Frequently necessary to bend and push/ pull equipment. It is also occasionally necessary to squat, crawl, crouch, reach above shoulder level, balance and kneel. Walking/ Climbing – Frequent walking and occasionally necessary to climb up to 15 feet. Comfortable being up to 40 feet above floor. Hand Task – Firm grasping with the right and left hands is necessary. Mental Capacity – Read and comprehend at the 12th grade level, add, subtract, multiply, and divide; comprehend and follow written and verbal instructions. Other – The position also requires exposure to changes in temperature/ humidity; being around moving machinery, exposure to dust, fumes, and gases.
