Corporate Accountant

Responsible for analyzing financial information and preparing financial reports to determine or maintain record of assets, liabilities, profit and loss, tax liability or other financial activities within the organization. Assists CFO and Controller with the financial affairs for the organization and financial analysis of operations, including interim and final financial statements with supporting schedules. Responsibilities Assists in the development and implementation of goals, policies, priorities and procedures relating to financial management, budgeting, inventory and accounting. Prepares, examines and analyzes various financial statements and reports to assess accuracy, completeness, and conformance to reporting and procedural standards. Compiles and analyzes financial information to prepare entries to accounts, such as general and subsidiary ledger accounts; reviews depreciation, cost, property, operating expenses and insurance records. Analyzes daily banking transactions and resolves bank issues. Reviews and reconciles inventory records; reports variances to Management. Directs and participates in cost analyses, rate studies, budgets and forecasts. Prepares profit and loss statements and reports of estimated future costs and revenues. Directs internal audits involving review of accounting and administrative controls; assists in federal and state audits. Establishes, implements and maintains internal system controls for new financial systems; maintains and develops procedures to improve existing systems. Prepares special reports for CFO and Controller by collecting, analyzing and summarizing account information and trends. Answers accounting procedure questions by researching and interpreting accounting policy and regulations. Computes taxes owed and prepares tax returns ensuring compliance governmental and accounting rules. Communicates with co-workers, management, clients, vendors and others in a courteous and professional manner. Ensures all financial transactions of the company comply with all federal, state, company and financial institution regulations, policies, work procedures and instructions and all accounting policies are in accordance with GAAP. Performs other duties and projects as assigned by Supervisor and/or Management. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Strong analytical, problem solving and mathematical skills, including ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Ability to work well under pressure and to work within short deadlines. Strong work ethic and emphasis on attention to detail. Works with integrity and ethically. Works independently while understanding the necessity for communicating and coordinating work efforts with other employees and organizations. Highly organized and capable of effective prioritizing and multi-tasking. Visual and typing skills to perform data entry are necessary. Willingness to use personal transportation in work capacity. Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality. Bachelors degree in Accounting or Bachelors degree in Business with emphasis in Accounting and/or equivalent experience. Minimum one (1) year general accounting experience. Working knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting and cost control principles. Experience with Microsoft Office programs, including Word, Outlook and PowerPoint; advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
