American Traveler is hiring an experienced Registered Nurse - VAD Coordinator with MI RN licensure, 3 years of VAD experience, and EPIC proficiency for an outpatient-focused role.Job Details• Based in a hospital outpatient setting primarily supporting VAD patients,• 80% outpatient work with occasional coverage in procedure areas and the OR,• Patients are primarily destination therapy cases with durable VAD devices including HeartMate 3, HeartMate 2, and BrioVAD,• Typical schedules are 4x10 or combinations of 10-hour and 8-hour day shifts, Monday through Friday,• No weekend or on-call requirements noted,• Cares for a caseload of approximately 210 VAD patients,• Uses Epic EMR and experience is required,Job Requirements• Active MI RN license required,• Minimum of 3 years of VAD experience required,• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required,• VAD-C certification preferred,• Previous experience with Epic EMR required,• Cannot have been employed at the client facility within the last 12 months,Additional Information• Manage patient and caregiver education on all aspects of VAD care and equipment,• Act as expert resource for VAD equipment, alarms, and troubleshooting in both clinic and procedural settings,• Respond to and triage urgent and routine patient concerns via telehealth, phone calls, and patient portals,• Collaborate with staff to provide training on VAD devices and emergency protocols,• Device download management and escalation to manufacturers as needed,
