Apply via Dice today!We are looking for Backend Software Engineer - Remote / Telecommute for our client in Montreal, QCJob Title: Backend Software Engineer - Remote / TelecommuteJob Location: Montreal, QCJob Type: ContractJob Overview:Responsibilities:Design and implement clear, scalable APIs and backend services that power core claim workflows.Partner cross-functionally with Product, Operations, Data Science, and Engineering teams to define requirements, develop technical designs, and deliver high-quality features from concept to production.Write clean, well-tested code and contribute to a culture of engineering excellence through thoughtful code reviews and shared best practices.Instrument and monitor services to ensure reliability, performance, and observability in production.Qualifications:5+ years of backend software development experience.Proficiency in one or more backend languages such as Kotlin, Java, or Python.Strong understanding of microservices and Kubernetes with experience working on APIs and end-to-end development from developing to testing.Hands-on experience designing and implementing high-throughput APIs, data pipelines, and distributed systems.Comfort working across the backend stack to diagnose and solve complex technical challenges.Excellent written and verbal communication skills; adept at collaborating in design discussions, working sessions, and code reviews.
