Body Imaging Radiologist

The University of Virginia Health System (UVA Health) is seeking a fellowship-trained Body Imaging Radiologist to join our Community Division. This role offers the opportunity to practice the full scope of body imaging in a collegial, supportive environment serving Prince William Hospital, Haymarket Medical Center, Culpeper Hospital, Culpeper Outpatient Imaging Center and Gainesville Outpatient Imaging Center. The position combines the advantages of community-based practice with the resources and academic connections of a leading university health system.The successful candidate will devote approximately 90–95% effort to clinical service and 5–10% to administrative and service activities, with flexibility to adapt as the division evolves.Clinical ResponsibilitiesInterpret a comprehensive range of Body Imaging studies across all major modalities (plain film, CT, MRI, ultrasound, fluoroscopic GI/GU exams, and non-vascular image-guided procedures).Refine, expand, and improve clinical services in body imaging and related image-guided procedures.Participate in multidisciplinary tumor boards and provide consultative expertise for referring physicians and technical staff.Collaborate with referring providers to ensure appropriate, high-value use of imaging studies and procedures.Share in the division’s clinical schedule and call responsibilities, with occasional coverage at the Culpeper Outpatient Imaging Center.Service & Administrative ResponsibilitiesContribute to quality improvement initiatives, workflow optimization, and patient care process enhancements.Participate in peer review, clinical protocol development, and recruitment/marketing initiatives.Work collaboratively with technologists, nurses, and administrative staff to ensure high-quality imaging protocols and efficient workflow.Promote a culture of collegiality, inclusivity, and respect within the Division and across UVA Health.Support the professional reputation of UVA Radiology in the communities we serve.QualificationsM.D. or D.O. degree; board certified/eligible in Diagnostic Radiology.Fellowship training in Body Imaging.Eligibility for medical licensure in the Commonwealth of Virginia.Strong clinical skills, collaborative mindset, and commitment to patient-centered care.Why Join UVA Health?Practice a broad spectrum of body imaging in a busy, high-quality community setting.Benefit from integration with a nationally recognized academic radiology department.Work with dedicated colleagues in a supportive, team-oriented environment.Live and practice in the growing Northern Virginia region, with close access to Washington, D.C.UVA Community HealthUVA Community Health is an integrated network of physician offices, outpatient facilities and medical centers that are now more closely aligned with UVA Medical Center, which has been recognized as the No. 1 Hospital in Virginia for children and adults by U.S. News & World Report.UVA Community Health ensures residents of Northern Virginia and Culpeper to continue receiving excellent care close to home.
