Deployment Project Manager & Controls

Job DescriptionRole SummaryThe Controls Project Manager is responsible for managing the delivery of building and electrical monitoring systems (BMS, DCIM, EPMS) across data center construction projects. This role ensures systems are delivered on time, within scope, and in compliance with design specifications, while coordinating across vendors, engineering teams, and internal stakeholders.Key ResponsibilitiesProject & Vendor ManagementManage scope, schedule, and execution of BMS, DCIM, and EPMS vendors during data center constructionDevelop detailed scopes of work for controls and site improvement projectsCoordinate across multiple stakeholders to align deliverables, requirements, and timelinesLead project meetings, provide status updates, and report progress to Operations Systems and Construction leadershipOperate effectively within tight project timelines and fast-paced environmentsTechnical OversightReview and provide feedback on controls sequences of operation during design and execution phasesPerform comprehensive reviews of BMS and EPMS submittals to ensure compliance with specificationsReview and interpret:Controls drawings and wiring diagramsBill of Materials (BOM)Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) drawingsEnsure systems are deployed in accordance with approved scope, design standards, and specificationsProcurement & Financial ManagementSupport procurement activities including RFP development, RFIs, vendor evaluations, and purchase order issuanceManage financial aspects of controls construction contracts, ensuring alignment with project budgets and timelinesCommissioning & Field SupportSupport and oversee controls-related commissioning activitiesConduct regular site visits to active construction projects to verify installation quality and vendor complianceEnsure all work meets design requirements and applicable codes (e.g., NEC)Minimum Qualifications2+ years of experience in controls or electrical construction project management5+ years of experience working with controls systems in critical environments (e.g., data centers, manufacturing, oil & gas, power)Strong understanding of:Industrial controls systemsEngineering documentation and electrical diagramsStandard operating proceduresProven ability to manage multiple stakeholders, vendors, and competing prioritiesExcellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skillsProficiency in Microsoft Office and project management tools
