This person will provide support for the storeroom by receiving, stocking, recording and dispensing material, supplies and equipment in accordance with established procedures.Specific ResponsibilitiesPerforms a variety of clerical duties related to Storeroom operations, such as, preparation of inventory records, and receiving reports, etc. Identifies all material received; assigns proper location and stores accordingly. Makes periodic inspections of storage bins (replace as needed) and restock storage bins with inventory.Checks material received and/or receipts against purchase orders to match amount and type of material and may furnish Manager and Buyer with sample of material received. Reports discrepancies between purchase orders and actual receipts to appropriate personnel so that correction can be made. Performs administrative duties including typing and filing records, invoices, responding to phone inquiries relating to materials received, in stocks, etc. Makes periodic inspection of storage bins and prepares requisitions to replenish stock when needed. Maintains Storeroom in orderly, clean condition. Dispense inventory items for Mini Mill Plant personnel. Performs other duties as assigned. Aids and supports other departments as directed.QualificationsRequires a high school education, or the equivalent, plus approximately one year’s experience in Storeroom or stockroom activities. Requires physical ability to handle materials and supplies, which may involve lifting somewhat heavy objects.Requires demonstrated proficient use of Microsoft Office products, specifically Excel, and Word.Physical Requirements/Working ConditionsThe employee will be working in an office environment but will do some walking through the plant (from time to time) exposing the employee to foundry operations. The employee will be exposed (very briefly) to the following working conditions: extreme heat and cold, noise, vibration, oils, and atmospheric conditions such as dust, fumes, and metallic particles. The employee will be required to perform the following actions (from time to time): standing, walking, balancing, stooping, kneeling, reaching, talking, seeing, hearing, and sitting. Most of the scope of work will be physical.
