Senior Controls Engineer
About the RoleWe are seeking a Controls Engineer to join a growing global automation and machine building organization in the northeast Atlanta metro. This team specializes in advanced automated assembly and end of line test systems for automotive, medical, and other advanced manufacturing industries. This is a hands on role focused on designing and building custom automated equipment from concept through commissioning.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign and develop PLC programs (Allen Bradley / ControlLogix) for custom automated assembly and test systemsLead controls architecture and sequencing for new machine and production line buildsDevelop HMI applications (FactoryTalk, Ignition, WinCC, etc.)Integrate robotics (Fanuc, ABB, KUKA) and vision systems into automated equipmentSupport system integration, debugging, FAT, SAT, and commissioningCollaborate with mechanical and electrical engineering teams on custom equipment designProvide technical leadership on projects from concept through deploymentQualifications5+ years of Controls/Automation Engineering experienceStrong experience programming Allen Bradley / Rockwell systems from scratchBackground in discrete automation, automated assembly, or end-of-line test systemsExperience with robotics and multi-station systemsCommissioning and startup experience in customer environmentsAbility to work independently in a project-driven engineering environmentPreferred ExperienceAutomotive, EV, or advanced manufacturing automationVision system integration (Keyence, Cognex, etc.)Multi-platform PLC exposure (Siemens, Beckhoff a plus)Experience in a systems integrator or machine builder environment
