Brunel is recruiting Completions Engineers to work in Spring, TX with our major Oil and Gas client. The Completions Engineer is responsible for the planning, design, execution support, and optimization of completions programs for unconventional wells.This role provides technical leadership to ensure wells are delivered safely, cost-effectively, and in compliance with regulatory and operational standards, while meeting geological and reservoir objectives.The engineer will work closely with drilling, subsurface, operations, and external teams to support multi-well development programs and continuous improvement initiatives.Responsibilities:Prepare detailed completions engineering designsCoordinate all phases of well planning and executionDevelop well programs optimized for cost, performance, and operational riskEnsure alignment with geological and reservoir objectivesProvide technical support to drilling and completions teamsSupport field execution through:Real-time surveillanceTroubleshootingContinuous improvement recommendationsCollaborate with Operations Supervisors and Remote Operation CentersPerform modeling and analysis (e.g., hydraulics, torque & drag, equipment performance)Evaluate and implement new technologiesIdentify risks, deviations, and optimization opportunities during executionDevelop cost estimates and perform economic evaluationsSteward well costs throughout the lifecycleConduct post-job cost reconciliation and reportingSelect and qualify completion tools, materials, and service providersPrepare and evaluate technical bid packagesSupport tendering and procurement processesMonitor contractor performance and KPIsEnsure compliance with regulatory requirements, permits, and approvalsMaintain adherence to industry standards and best practicesLead or support non-productive time (NPT) and failure investigationsQualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related technical field10+ years of relevant experience in unconventional completionsExperience working across drilling, subsurface, and production teamsStrong knowledge of:Completions design and operationsEquipment and industry standardsSkills:Strong analytical and engineering problem-solving abilitiesExcellent communication and cross-functional collaborationAbility to manage tight deadlines and shifting prioritiesHigh attention to safety, quality, and operational integrityTechnical Proficiency:Microsoft Office SuiteStandard engineering and modeling tools
