Door Engineering has been building custom, high-performance door systems for 60+ years and we're growing. We're looking for an experienced Manual Machinist who takes pride in doing things right the first time and enjoys working with traditional machine tools (this is not a CNC position).What You'll DoSet up and operate manual lathes, mills and surface/cylindrical grindersSelect tooling, speeds/feeds and coolant to hit tight tolerancesPerform part set-ups and run jobs independently with minimal supervisionFabricate, modify and repair mechanical components, jigs and fixturesSupport occasional light assemblyInspect parts using micrometers, calipers, indicators, height gages and CMM (where applicable)Read and interpret blueprints and GD&T collaborate with engineers to clarify function/fit and suggest improvementsMaintain repeatable processes, troubleshoot issues and document workPerform routine machine care and uphold all safety and 5S standardsWhat You BringHigh school diploma/GED required; technical training or Machine Tool Technology certificate preferred2+ years manual machining experience (57 years manual grinding strongly preferred)Experience with Studer cylindrical or Jones & Shipman surface grinders is a plusStrong shop math, blueprint reading and knowledge of speeds/feeds, cutting tools and grinding/turning proceduresFamiliarity with CMM, quality documentation and first-article inspectionsAbility to stand ~90% of the shift and lift up to 50 lbs with required PPEPersonal hand tools and measuring instruments for general machine-shop work (specialty tools provided)Why You'll Love Working HereCompany-Paid Benefits:Life Insurance, STD, LTD3 weeks PTO8 paid holidays in 2026Parental LeaveAdditional Benefits:401(k) with company matchMedical, dental, visionEmployee discount programsOptional supplemental benefitsCareer development & tuition assistanceA diverse, inclusive, welcoming cultureIf you're a manual machinist who loves craftsmanship, precision and being part of a team that values quality and innovation, we want to meet you!Equal Opportunity Employer No third-party candidates or phone calls
