NOW HIRING: Millerbernd Manufacturing is looking for a Welder 2 to join our Circular Products (CP) team in Sauk Rapids, MN as we are expanding our Sauk Rapids footprint. A Welder 2 is responsible for performing MIG welding, layout, tacking, fabrication and building functions in the manufacture of various products in accordance with product specifications. Other combinations of formal training and experience will be considered. Actual pay may vary based on experience, education, and other factors.)Shift Schedule: 1st shift Monday - Friday 7am - 3pm OR 2nd shift Monday - Thursday 3pm - 1amShift Differential: 1st shift - N/A, 2nd shift - $1.50/hourAs a Welder 2, you will:Perform the following GMAW welds - butt - V - single bevel and fillet welds on carbon steelProduce welds that pass visual inspectionCan perform necessary repairs that pass adhere to MMC Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS) and CWI inspection requirementsDemonstrates the ability to weld the above weld joints with either .045 and/or .062 diameter wiresRead and understand Millerbernd's WPS's - select appropriate wire and shielding gas and weld within WPS weld parametersProficient in print reading and understands weld symbols and welding gaugesCan perform welds using following wire - solid - flux core and metal core as needed.Can weld carbon, stainless steel as neededPerform carbon arc gouging and recognize when any and all defects have been removedLayout and tack to specificationsUse grinder or other appropriate tools to clean, smooth out, grind or finish parts as neededUse various machines to fabricate, build, and design products.Monitor the production board and internal paperwork to perform tasks in the designated sequenceAccurately label all parts for routing to next operationPerforms prescribed preventative maintenance on machines as requiredEnter job data in production tracking systemUse crane, hoist, forklift or other material handling equipment to transport materials and product into and out of the work area as requiredMust be AWS GMAW certifiedWelders employed with Millerbernd will have the opportunity to complete all weld certification requirements including AWS certification within 14 days of employment - up to 3 attemptsWelders employed with Circular Products-Sauk Rapids location are required to obtain and maintain ASME certification requirements* Ensure use of safe work procedures and wear all required PPE* Perform work at the appropriate pace to maintain quality and productivity requirementsRole Qualifications as a Welder 2:* Preferred candidates will have 3 years' experience in metal fabrication/welding experience* Successful completion of internal welding test is mandatory.Proficient knowledge in interpreting blueprints, mechanical drawings, and weld symbolsAbility to operate hoists, cranes, and other powered industrial vehicles as neededAbility to operate various power and hand toolsExperience in use of weld positioners, turners, fixtures and equipmentAbility to perform basic shop math functionsAbility to electronically record production informationAbility to read and understand required internal manufacturing paperworkAbility to work with others as part of a high-performance teamAbility to adapt to changing work prioritiesAble to work under limited supervision using standardized practices and/or proceduresAccurately use tape measure and precision measuring instrumentsOperational knowledge of Electric Plasma and Acetylene TorchProficient in welding techniques on flat, vertical and rotating planesPhysical Demands:This position requires the individual to wear and work in company-provided personal protective equipment (PPE). This position requires that the individual can lift a minimum of 50lbs. And, if applicable, can maneuver large, cumbersome equipment with the use of an overhead crane and/or forklift. Must be able to work in, on, or around equipment and machinery.
