POSITION SUMMARY:Manage the day-to-day operations of the Coating Department. Plan and coordinate workactivities and resources necessary for manufacturing eyewear in accordance with cost,quality and quantity specifications. Ensure compliance with all governmental, safety andcompany rules and regulations. Lead change and drive continuous improvement at theOptical Lab.OPERATIONS* Ensure maximum efficiency is attained in the Coating Department byimplementing, optimizing and successfully managing production and qualitystandards at the lowest costEnsure that quality, cost, efficiency and capacity goals are met or exceededEvaluate quality of product to verify compliance with ANSI standardsMonitor production schedules and adjust accordinglyPrepare and maintain production reportsTroubleshoot production issues and formulate preventive or corrective action.Engage teammates as appropriate* Recommend optimum production solutions and equipment requirements* Maintain involvement to reduce breakage, improve quality, increase jobs per hourand enhance material flow* Ensure budgeted financial goals and objectives are communicated and achieved* Maintain proper staffing levels to ensure positive productivity and turnaroundexpectations* Achieve measurable Key Performance Indicator (KPI's) improvementsTRAINING AND IMPROVEMENT* Ensure teammates receive applicable Optical Lab training to perform all aspectsof their job including safe and efficient equipment operations in addition to workand safety procedures as outlined in their respective job description* Engage in ongoing research to remain up to date on new technologies inproduction and for possible implementation* Partner with production leads for input on teammate's performance reviews anddevelopment plans* Provide production leads and teammates with ongoing performance feedback* Implement measures to motivate teammates and to improve morale, productionmethods, efficiency, equipment performance, productivity and product quality* Foster an inclusive culture for all teammates at the Optical LabMAINTAIN SAFE WORK ENVIRONMENT* Ensure teammates follow all Optical Lab and company policies and adhere tosafety related guidelines and OSHA regulations* Ensure machinery is operating safely and effectively* Ensure teammates perform stretching before reporting to workstationMINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS REQUIREMENTS:* High School Graduate or equivalent* Minimum 5 years leadership experience.
