Assistant Construction Manager

Key Responsibilities
Adhere to company safety programs, training, and policies while collaborating with the project team to manage Safety & Health performance of team members, contractors, and others as required.
Support the Project Management team in building client relationships and interfacing with clients for proposal and project items.
Assist in development of internal and external project risk reviews and consult with Legal as required.
Coordinate and assist in development and implementation of the Project Execution Plan, Quality Assurance Plan, Safety & Health Plan, Subcontracting Plan, Staffing Plan, Organization Chart, and Procurement Plan.
Contribute to negotiation, approval, and execution of prime contracts, subcontracts, purchase orders, and change orders.
Develop and support implementation of site mobilization/demobilization plans.
Secure applicable project permits.
Support bidder registration and pre-qualification efforts.
Prepare Requests for Proposal (RFPs), assist with scope of work development, and contribute to the bid and selection process.
Support implementation of project specifications, drawing releases, and design changes.
Execute downstream contract administration (RFIs, submittals, meeting minutes, change management, and claims mitigation).
Support cost reporting, scheduling, work breakdown structures, project setup/closeout, and field progress tracking.
Prepare and report project status, risks, scheduling, costs, and cash flows; develop and distribute meeting minutes.
Support the invoicing process for prime contracts, subcontractors, and suppliers.
Establish and implement project documentation and filing systems.
Verify compliance of contractor insurance, licensures, taxes/duties, and securities.
Support/conduct project safety, quality, progress, and financial audits.
Facilitate materials receiving, inventory control, storage, and transportation.
Collaborate with site leadership to ensure subcontractor compliance with contract, safety, quality, and schedule requirements.
Facilitate project turnover documentation, warranties, and closeout processes.
Maintain compliance with company policies and procedures.
Assist with development of project labor agreements as required.
Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field — applicable experience may substitute.
3–7 years of relevant construction experience.
OSHA 10-hour certification strongly preferred.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Access).
Experience with document control, scheduling, cost control, and project management tools preferred (e.g., Primavera P6).
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving capabilities.
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Pay: $90,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
