Today, we operate seven factories nationwide, including our advanced prototyping and testing headquarters in El Segundo, and deliver avionics, hydraulic, and electrical components for platforms such as the F-35, F-16, F/A-18, 737MAX, 787, A320neo, A321, Mk-48, and M1 Abrams.OverviewThe Machinist role is responsible for fabricating precision components in Amca's R&D shop. You will work directly alongside engineers to turn designs into hardware across a wide variety of materials and processes. We are looking for a skilled, autonomous machinist with high standards for workmanship and adaptability to thrive in a dynamic manufacturing environment.ResponsibilitiesProgram, set up and operate multi-axis CNC mills, lathes, EDMs, and manual equipmentWrite and optimize CAM programs for new parts and processesComplete machining operations from engineering drawings, models, and verbal instructionsWork with complex, tight tolerance parts across a variety of materialsInspect parts using hand tools to verify dimensionsDesign and fabricate fixtures and tooling as neededWork closely with engineering to refine designs for manufacturabilityCommunicate clearly when production is blocked or drawings are unclearContinuously provide feedback for process improvementsWilling to cross train in other shop operations to support the broader teamAble to work independently with minimal supervisionPositive attitude, reliable, and works well on a teamBasic QualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent3+ years of machining experience in a precision manufacturing environmentProficiency with CNC and manual equipment including mills and lathesAbility to read engineering drawings, GD&T, notes, and tolerancesMust be a U.S. person as defined by ITARPreferred Skills and Experience7+ years of machining experience in aerospace, defense, or precision manufacturingProficiency with CAM software and ability to read and adjust G-codeFamiliar with multiple machine controls including Fanuc, Siemens, and OSPExperience machining exotic or difficult metals common to aerospace applicationsExperience operating plastic injection molding equipment is a bonusBackground in an R&D or prototype environmentAdditional RequirementsMust be able to travel as needed in response to business needs with short noticeMust be able to work extended hours, including weekends, as needed to meet business needsThis position is based in El Segundo, CA and requires being on-siteHourly Pay Range$40 - $60 USDThis position requires use of information which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).
