Front of House Manager / Lead Server (Full-Time Part-Time)

Overview Public House Marin – Fairfax, CA Public House Marin is a neighborhood-driven restaurant and wine bar focused on great food, thoughtful wine/beer and genuine hospitality. We’re looking for a hands-on Front of House Manager who leads from the floor, knows Toast inside and out, and brings an upbeat, community-first attitude to every shift.This is a working manager role — you will manage the front of house and serve guests. This full-time or part-time leadership role is ideal for someone with a passion for exceptional customer service, hospitality management, and team leadership. The successful candidate will ensure smooth service flow, uphold high standards of food safety and quality, and foster a welcoming environment for guests. Prior experience in food service management, fine dining, or casual dining settings is highly valued, along with strong organizational and supervisory skills. What You’ll Do Lead, train, and support front-of-house staff Create and manage FOH schedules Oversee food presentation and service flow in coordination with kitchen staff to maintain high standards of food safety and quality Oversee front-of-house and alcohol inventory Be the in-house expert on Toast POS: Order entry, menu updates, modifiers, comps, voids, discounts Reporting, labor tools, and troubleshooting during service Maintain smooth service and excellent guest experience on every shift Ensure cleanliness and organization of the dining area in accordance with health regulations Collaborate with management on budgeting, staffing needs, and operational improvements Serve guests with warmth, efficiency, and professionalism Work closely with ownership to uphold our standards and culture Foster a welcoming, inclusive, neighborhood vibe for guests and staff Who You Are Extremely knowledgeable with Toast POS (this is required) Experienced in hospitality management and serving Comfortable leading a team while actively working the floor Organized, reliable, and detail-oriented Calm under pressure with a positive, solutions-focused mindset Community-minded — you enjoy regulars and relationship-building A strong communicator who leads with respect and accountability Ability to adapt quickly in a fast-paced restaurant setting while maintaining professionalism What We Offer Full-time or Part-time hours Competitive hourly pay + tips Opportunity to play a key role in day-to-day operations Supportive, hands-on ownership A stable, community-focused workplace How to Apply Please apply through Indeed with your resume and a short note telling us: Your experience using Toast POS Your background in hospitality management What great service and community mean to you Your availability Job Types: Full-time, Part-time Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour Expected hours: 25 – 38 per week Benefits: Employee discount Flexible schedule Paid training Experience: Hospitality management: 1 year (Preferred) Language: English (Required) Shift availability: Day Shift (Preferred) Night Shift (Preferred) Work Location: In person
