Reporting directly to the Associate Director, Commercial Operations, the Manager, Continuous Improvement is responsible for ensuring the Aecon Commercial Operations team supports Aecon US business operations for driving operational excellence across the organization by identifying, prioritizing, and leading process improvement initiatives that increase efficiency, consistency, and value delivery. This role partners closely with Commercial Operations, field teams, and technology leaders to improve how work gets donewhile ensuring improvements are practical, measurable, and sustainable. The ideal candidate is both analytical and hands-on: someone who can diagnose root causes, facilitate change, coach teams, and embed a culture of continuous improvement across the business. Citizenship Requirement: This position requires access to nuclear facilities and information governed by U.S. federal regulations. As a result, applicants must be U.S. citizens to meet eligibility and security clearance requirements.What You'll Do Here:Lead the identification, prioritization, and execution of continuous improvement initiatives across estimating, contracts, procurement, compliance, and related functionsTranslate business challenges into structured improvement efforts using Lean, Six Sigma, or similar methodologiesDevelop improvement roadmaps aligned with strategic objectives and operational capacityEnsure improvements are scalable, repeatable, and aligned with enterprise standardsFacilitate current-state assessments, value stream mapping, root cause analysis, and future-state designReduce cycle time, rework, variation, and manual effort across key commercial processesPartner with Solution Architects to ensure process improvements are properly documented and standardizedValidate that improved processes are aligned with system capabilities and controlsDefine success metrics and KPIs for improvement initiativesTrack performance improvements and quantify benefits (cost savings, time savings, risk reduction)Report progress, outcomes, and risks to leadership in a clear and actionable mannerEnsure sustained adoption and performance post-implementationCoach and support business leaders and teams in continuous improvement practicesLead workshops, Kaizen events, and problem-solving sessionsPromote a culture of accountability, data-driven decision-making, and continuous learningSupport training and enablement efforts tied to new processes and toolsPartner with Program Managers to align improvement initiatives with broader transformation effortsCollaborate with IT and system owners on process-driven technology enhancementsServe as a trusted advisor to operations, finance, and leadership teamsBalance enterprise standardization with field and operational realitiesWhat You Bring to the Team:Bachelor's degree in Business, Operations, Engineering, Construction Management, or related field610+ years of experience in continuous improvement, operational excellence, or business transformationDemonstrated success leading cross-functional process improvement initiativesStrong understanding of commercial or project-based operationsExcellent facilitation, communication, and stakeholder management skillsStructured problem-solving and analytical thinkingStrong facilitation and influence skillsBias toward action and measurable outcomesAbility to simplify complexity and drive alignmentHigh ownership, resilience, and follow-throughNice to Have:Lean Six Sigma (Green Belt or Black Belt) or equivalent certificationExperience in construction, engineering, EPC, or capital-intensive industriesFamiliarity with estimating, procurement, contracts, and compliance workflowsExperience supporting ERP or enterprise system improvementsExperience working in regulated or federally governed environmentsAecon fosters belonging within and across our organization.
