Senior Network EngineerThe Senior Network Engineer is a senior technical leader responsible for architecting, securing, and optimizing enterprise network and infrastructure services across geographically distributed facilities and colocation environments. This role drives the reliability, security, and scalability of core platforms including Fortinet security infrastructure, virtualization clusters, enterprise storage systems, server platforms, and backup solutions, while partnering with IT leadership to support business growth and operational excellence.Key responsibilities include serving as technical owner for core network, infrastructure, and security platforms, owning and maintaining the organization's security posture, leading ISO 27001 compliance efforts, administering and optimizing Fortinet firewall infrastructure, managing and securing Microsoft 365 / Exchange Online (O365), performing and overseeing weekly Windows Server maintenance and patching, maintaining and supporting in-house developed systems, owning and operating the Hyper-V virtualization environment, administering and optimizing enterprise storage platforms, leading the design and build of a redundant data center environment, owning and maintaining Barracuda load balancers, ensuring backup systems are fully operational, designing, installing, and supporting LAN, WAN, network segmentation, Internet, and intranet systems, installing, configuring, and maintaining network hardware and software, supporting daily IT operations by resolving escalated support tickets and serving as a senior technical escalation point, monitoring networks and systems to ensure availability, performance, and secure access for authorized users, rapidly analyzing, isolating, and resolving complex infrastructure and network issues to minimize business impact, continuously evaluating system and network performance, implementing improvements to enhance reliability and efficiency, identifying user, system, and business requirements to define future network and infrastructure needs, maintaining the integrity of network architecture, server deployments, and security controls across all environments, assisting with the development of IT policies, procedures, standards, and training, promoting operational excellence and security best practices, participating in and leading infrastructure and security projects as assigned.Required skills include enterprise LAN / WAN / VLAN / VPN design and support, advanced routing and switching concepts, high-availability and failover architecture design, multi-facility and colocation connectivity, network performance monitoring, tuning, and troubleshooting, strong understanding of network security principles within enterprise environment, Fortinet Next-Generation Firewall administration and security architecture, IPS/IDS, application control, VPNs, NAT, segmentation, policy management, ownership of Microsoft 365 / O365 Security, Exchange Online security, identity protection, tenant-level security controls, ISO 27001 compliance, control ownership, remediation tracking, audit support, security governance, secure network design and continuous risk mitigation, incident analysis and remediation of security-related issues, senior-level troubleshooting and issue isolation, support ticket escalation and resolution, change management and documentation, ability to support production environments with minimal disruption, vendor and third-party coordination when needed, technical ownership mindset, ability to define future network and infrastructure requirements, strong documentation and policy development skills, cross-team collaboration, ability to work independently while leading infrastructure initiatives.Ability to architect, secure, and operate enterprise network and infrastructure platforms with a focus on availability, performance, and security, take technical ownership of critical systems and make sound decisions independently in high-impact situations, troubleshoot and resolve complex, cross-domain issues spanning networking, security, virtualization, storage, and applications, design and implement high-availability and disaster-recovery solutions, including failover and redundant architectures, apply security-first thinking, proactively identifying risk and aligning controls with ISO 27001 and enterprise best practices, communicate complex technical concepts, risks, and recommendations clearly to IT leadership and non-technical stakeholders, prioritize and manage competing operational and project responsibilities in a fast-paced environment, lead infrastructure initiatives from design through implementation, including documentation and operational handoff, collaborate effectively across IT, security, operations, and vendors to deliver reliable, scalable solutions.Experience:Bachelor's or Technical degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience, 6+ years of progressive experience in enterprise network, infrastructure, and security engineering roles. Preferred attributes include Fortinet NSE certifications, Microsoft certifications, experience supporting ISO 27001 compliance in an audited environment.Work environment:Home / Warehouse Mix: This job operates as a remote role. Air and Driving Travel may be required for Projects, Training, and Meetings. This role will require the ability to, on occasion, go in and out of trailers, navigate around roller racks, and other logistical equipment within a warehouse setting.
