Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, performing IT General controls consulting, controls walkthrough, and test of operating effectiveness of controls to support ongoing SOX consulting and audit engagements for a diverse client base consisting of technology, manufacturing, and financial services companies.The SOX IT Consultant can be based out of any of the following U.S. office locations (New York, NY; Princeton, NJ; Whippany, NJ; East Brunswick NJ; Red Bank, NJ; Saddle Brook, NJ; Buffalo, NY). But our commitment goes beyond our clients as we continue to live the Withum Way, promoting personal and professional growth for all team members, clients, and surrounding communities.How You'll Spend Your TimeProcess walkthroughs, testing, and documentation of various IT General Controls including Access, Change Management, Computer Operations, etc.Obtaining, analyzing and appraising evidentiary dataDrawing informed objective opinions as to the adequacy and effectiveness of IT controlsPreparing work papers summarizing evidentiary data obtained and conclusions reachedIdentify and evaluate complex business and technology risks, internal controls which mitigate risks, and related opportunities for internal control improvementFacilitate use of technology-based tools and methodologies to assess the design and operating effectiveness of controls and implement servicesAdapt to the ever-changing compliance landscape and keep abreast with the latest IT threats, mitigation Techniques, etc.The Kind of People We Want to Talk to Have Many of The Following:BA/BS in Computer Science, Information Systems Administration or related fieldPossession of, or desire to, obtain CISA or other equivalent certifications1 to 2 years of experience on ITGC audit/consulting with a public accounting firmEffective client service and communication skills, both verbal and writtenKnowledge of IT general controls, operating systems, databasesDesire and ability to work in a team environmentThe compensation for this position ranges from $70,00-$90,000. In addition to the base compensation, Withum offers a competitive benefits package and bonus program (for eligible roles) based on individual and firm performance. Final offer amounts are based on multiple factors such as the specific role, hiring location, as well as the individual’s skills, experience and qualifications.
