Operations Engineering ManagerThe Operations Engineering Manager is responsible for leading and overseeing engineering activities that support daily operations, continuous improvement, and strategic initiatives within the organization. This role ensures efficient production processes, optimal equipment performance, and alignment with business goals through strong leadership, technical expertise, and cross-functional collaboration.Duties and ResponsibilitiesLead, develop, and manage the engineering team, including performance management, coaching, and technical skill development.Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, quality, delivery, and cost (SQDC).Oversee process optimization, capacity planning, and workflow improvements to enhance operational efficiency and throughput.Partner with maintenance leadership to improve equipment reliability through robust preventive and predictive maintenance strategies, reliability engineering, and standardized maintenance practices.Lead engineering efforts to develop, optimize, and sustain preventive maintenance programs, equipment standards, and technical documentation.Collaborate cross-functionally with production, quality, maintenance, and supply chain teams to resolve complex technical issues and sustain operational performance.Manage capital projects, including scope definition, budgeting, execution, and implementation of new equipment or technologies with a focus on safety, reliability, and maintainability.Ensure compliance with safety regulations, environmental standards, and company policies across engineering and operational activities.Analyze production, equipment, and maintenance data to identify trends, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective and preventive actions.Support new program launches by ensuring manufacturing readiness, process capability, and equipment reliability.Standardize engineering practices, specifications, and procedures to support consistent operations and maintainability.Lead structured problem-solving efforts for operational and equipment-related issues using formal root cause analysis methodologies.QualificationsBachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, Electrical, or related field required510+ years of engineering experience in a manufacturing or operations environment.Minimum of three (3) years of experience in a leadership or supervisory roleExperience with OSHA requirements in a manufacturing environmentExperience with capital project management and process design.SkillsStrong leadership, strategic planning, and budgeting skillsEffective conflict resolution and problem-solving abilitiesAbility to manage multiple competing prioritiesAbility to interact professionally with employees at all organizational levelsSelf-motivated and capable of working independentlyWorking knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)Communication SkillsMust possess strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills effectively in Business English.Physical RequirementsWork in a manufacturing environment that may include equipment noise, temperature variations, and dustPerform job duties that require standing, walking, sitting, bending, reaching, and moving throughout the workdayWork safely in compliance with OSHA, EPA, and all applicable regulatory standardsCommunicate, observe, and interpret information necessary to perform job duties, with or without assistive devicesUnderstand and follow written and verbal instructions related to safety, quality, and operationsOccasionally move or handle tools, materials, equipment, or documentsWhen required, lift or move items up to 10 pounds without assistanceWhen lifting, pushing, pulling, or transporting heavier items (up to 50 pounds or more), company-provided assistive or mechanical devices will be usedEqual Opportunity Employer (EOE) Qualified applicants will receive consideration without regard to their race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender, identity, disability, protected veteran status and national origin.At Astemo, we're challenging the status quo with the power of diversity, inclusion, and collaboration.
