Summary
Partner Engineering and Science is seeking a full-time Civil Engineer to work in our Eatontown, New Jersey office (remote/ hybrid option available). The ideal candidate will have 10+ years of progressive design experience in land and site development projects, including preparation of site plan, subdivision and regulatory agency applications, and public presentations. Also, having an interest in and/or experience with Solar, Renewable, and Sustainability projects is a plus!
Responsibilities and Duties
Team player and initiator who wants to help grow and expand a civil design department
Manage/supervise projects from due diligence/feasibility, through concept design, design plans, permitting and construction
Maintain an overview of entire projects while continuing to attend to detailed technicalities
Liaise with clients and a variety of professionals including architects, environmental consultants, developers, builders and contractors
Analyze survey reports, maps, and other data to plan projects
Prepare proposals, coordinate staff resources, process invoices
Utilize AutoCAD design/drafting functions
Prepare permit applications, including supporting documents
Train, teach and mentor staff members
Engage in creating new approaches and ideas that continuously improve efficiency and services performed
Negotiate, supervise and lead, with ability to delegate
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in Civil Engineering
PE license in New Jersey, other states desirable
Strong client management skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Experience in site civil design for small to large-sized residential, commercial, and industrial projects for private clients
Storm water management design skills and thorough knowledge of current and pending New Jersey storm water rules
AutoCAD 3D proficiency
Organizational skills, including ability to handle multiple projects at once
Ability to meet deadlines and objectives, and to work under pressure
Can-do attitude with a strong desire to be part of a team. Works well with people at all levels within the organization
Ability to learn quickly, along with strong communication skills, and a solid work ethic.
Excellent decision making and problem-solving skills
10+ years of progressive design and project management experience in land and site development, particularly in preparing plans and design production for site plan and subdivision applications.
5+ years of experience in representing projects before approval authorities, such as Planning Boards, Zoning Boards, Regulatory Agencies, etc.
Experience with or willingness to gain experience in civil engineering design components of Solar, Renewable and Sustainability projects
“Book of business” bringing clients to Partner and potentially other staff is desirable, but not required
COMPENSATION
The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $125,000 - $150,000.
You may also be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors, including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance.
