You will develop technical training programs and help others develop skills that will make them better professionals. SME Technical Trainer must be excellent communicators, able to explain complex subjects in a clear and interesting way, and devise training simulators for students to better understand the training material.Additionally, SME Technical Trainers should possess technical aptitude and be knowledgeable in manufacturing, industrial and/or food processing. The goal is to contribute to the development of people's occupational skills to meet organizational needs. This role requires travel to various Central Valley business units in accordance with the teaching schedule.This position will be based at our Shafter, CA office.Job DescriptionDevise technical training programs according to organizational requirementsProduce teaching schedules and classroom curriculumDevelop engaging course content using invention, imagination, and talentConceive original and creative materials, including visual, auditory and tactile lessonsExecute advanced training modules independentlyMeet with customers and provide them with a customized curriculum plan for advanced technical unitsArrange for and conduct on-sight teaching as neededKeep and report data on completed courses, absences, and issuesObserve and evaluate results of teaching programsDetermine overall effectiveness of programs and make improvementsProvide recommendations on student advancementUse of CAD/Ignition/Inventor software to create training diagramsRead and create schematic diagrams for class usageCoach and mentor new technical trainers and internsOTHER IMPORTANT DUTIES:Use of professional digital cameras for photos and videoUse various software for video editing (Camtasia), audio post processing (Audacity)Develop content in corporate LMS systemConduct customer needs assessments with minimal assistance from the Director of Technical Training.Conduct field work alongside our engineering/operational teamsOther ad-hoc duties assigned* Training will be provided for all tools and systems as needed.QualificationsBachelor's or Associate's degree in relevant technical field preferred, or a minimum of 3 years of equivalent experience in operations or a related technical field.Outstanding communication skills, and comfort in speaking to groupsAdvanced knowledge of electrical, mechanical, industrial automation, or related technical fieldsKnowledge of modern training techniques and tools in technical subjectsExcellent organizational and time-management abilitiesAbility to collaborate with peers and members outside of the department/organizationStrong proficiency in Google Docs and Microsoft Office applications, including Word and PowerPointBilingual in English and Spanish preferredValid Driver's LicenseSome international travel may be requiredPay Range: $80,000 and may include a discretionary bonus.
