Part-Time Afternoon Direct Care Professional

Duties Provide personalized support to residents during afternoon hours, assisting with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility. Monitor residents’ health and safety by observing changes in behavior or condition, documenting vital signs, and reporting concerns promptly. Assist with medication administration following HIPAA guidelines and care plans developed by healthcare professionals. Support residents with meal preparation, ensuring nutritional needs are met while encouraging independence. Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light cleaning duties and adhering to infection control protocols. Use specialized equipment such as Hoyer lifts or resident lifts to ensure safe transfers and mobility assistance. Engage residents in social activities and therapeutic programs to promote mental stimulation and emotional well-being. Requirements Prior experience working in group homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home & community care settings is highly preferred. Knowledge of patient observation techniques, vital signs monitoring, and medication administration is essential. Certification in CPR and First Aid is required; additional certifications such as HIPAA training or dementia care are a plus. Ability to lift heavy objects safely and assist with resident transfers using appropriate equipment. Strong communication skills with a compassionate approach to working with individuals with developmental disabilities, Alzheimer’s disease, dementia, autism spectrum disorder, or other special needs. Experience in caring for seniors or individuals requiring long-term care or hospice support is advantageous. Flexibility to work during afternoon shifts while maintaining a positive attitude and proactive mindset toward caregiving responsibilities.
